AJMAN – The Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media has concluded a promotional roadshow in India, visiting Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad as the emirate seeks to strengthen its position in one of its priority international tourism markets.

The initiative brought Ajman tourism officials together with travel agents, tour operators and other industry partners across the three cities. The roadshow also introduced a new incentive programme aimed at turning stronger trade engagement into increased bookings and visitor flows.

The programme, known as the ‘Ajman Partner’ Tourism Growth Incentive Programme, was launched as part of the department’s efforts to expand destination promotion and encourage travel trade partners to include Ajman in tourism programmes targeting Indian travellers visiting the UAE.

Trade engagement

During the roadshow, the department conducted a series of business-to-business meetings and destination workshops with representatives of India’s travel trade sector. Discussions focused on Ajman’s tourism offering and opportunities to develop programmes suited to the interests of Indian visitors.

The meetings also provided a platform for the department to engage directly with market partners, identify areas for cooperation and explore ways to strengthen Ajman’s distribution and promotional channels in India.

Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director-General of the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, said the roadshow reaffirmed the strategic importance of India as the emirate works to diversify its international source markets.

He said the initiative provided an opportunity to better understand market requirements while identifying new areas for cooperation in developing competitive and relevant tourism products.

Partner incentives

The ‘Ajman Partner’ programme is designed to support travel trade partners through performance-based incentives, with the broader objective of strengthening destination promotion, stimulating bookings and increasing visitor flows.

Alhashmi said the programme would reinforce the role of travel trade partners in Ajman’s tourism growth by linking market engagement with incentives focused on measurable results.

The India roadshow forms part of the department’s wider strategy to expand Ajman’s international tourism reach, strengthen relationships with the global travel trade and diversify its source markets. The department said its efforts are aligned with Ajman Vision 2030 and focus on destination competitiveness and sustainable tourism growth.

Following the roadshow, the department will continue its engagement with the Indian market through strategic partnerships, targeted trade initiatives and destination development efforts aimed at strengthening Ajman’s appeal as an accessible and distinctive tourism destination.
